Peter Tosh - Live At The One Love Peace Concert (1978)

Este show, um dos mais memoráveis da carreira de Peter Tosh, foi realizado em 22 de Abril de 1978, em Kingston, Jamaica.

Ele discordou do tema proposto para o concerto ao declarar, como na letra da canção “Equal Rights”: “Eu não quero paz, quero justiça”.

Entre uma música e outra, o cantor falou de forma eloquente para a multidão, condenando veementemente tanto o governo como a oposição, pedindo o fim da brutalidade policial e a opressão, e que se iniciasse a construção do país devastado pela pobreza. Ele também insistiu que os agricultores pudessem cultivar maconha e que as pessoas pudessem fumar em paz.

Em uma noite Tosh proclamou: "A paz é própria dos cemitérios". Suas palavras foram recebidas pela multidão com gritos de aprovação e causaram um incêndio, pelo menos na imprensa.

Cinco meses após o concerto, Tosh foi preso por posse de drogas e espancado com tanta violência que exigiu 30 pontos para fechar ferimentos na cabeça.

Nessa altura, nada poderia sufocar o fogo da sua mensagem incendiária.
